iFit Music
Music is an essential part of having a great workout experience and iFit wanted to amp up their music game. To limit issues with music lawsuits, iFit teamed up with FEED.FM who or are well versed with the music legal system and provide a decent selection of music. There were a lot of constraints we needed to design around to avoid any kind of lawsuit and so we were constantly trying to figure out ways to better the user experience and interface to increase product usage.
The user problem
The music was buried in the pause overlay and the overall design blended in with the rest of the in-workout UI. It was easy for users to gloss over the music section which led to a low use rate.
The business problem
With the large amount of projects coming down the pipeline, music was often put on the back burner. music needed more attention so I put together a wishlist of what I thought would help bring music to a primary level in hopes to increase user engagement.

Proposed edits
Most of the edits are bringing life to the current UI and putting the design in the same playing field as most common music apps. Allowing each station to have some form of cover art will make the content the primary focus.
Adding imagery will also help bring the content up on the accessibility scale because it will be much easier to remember / scan for what you are looking for instead of trying to read small text.
Conclusion
This was a fun side project that I ended up putting in my back pocket because of time restraints but I hope one day iFit will amp up their music game so they can provide a better experience and compete with brands such as Peloton.
